Beinn Alligin – Mountain of Beauty

This was taken during my epic venture on Beinn Alligin during summer of 2020. It’s hardly surprising Beinn Alligin means the Mountain of Beauty in Gaelic. It was the most memorable day and one that I thoroughly enjoyed!! Torridon is an area of outstanding natural beauty!!! To simplify the hike, an inexperienced scrambler can exclude the Horns of Alligin, therefore reducing the route to a grade 4. However, the day is more exciting and rewarding by including the ridge transverse.

Sgurr nan Saighead – Five Sisters of Kintail

Sgurr nan Saighead is the most dramatic peak of the Five Sisters!! Interestingly, there’s 6 peaks on the ridge though it’s named Five Sisters since only 5 peaks can be seen from the Ratagan pass view point. The western half of the 8-mile ridge comprises of 3 Munros (Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe, Sgurr na Carnach, Sgurr Fhuaran), 2 Munro tops (Sgurr nan Spainteach, Sgurr nan Saighead) and a Corbett top (Sgurr na Moracih). The Corbett top Sgurr na Moracih is usually omitted as this does not have the height of a Munro.
