Got lucky with the weather with a 10 mile river walk to Milngavie, in the outskirts of Glasgow!! This was during the travel restrictions so all within the 5 mile boundary of my local authority area. Started the journey at the Kelvin Walkway, followed the River Kelvin and then onto Allander Water. Where I watched the sun beautifully setting!!! Then a short stroll along the West Highland Way to a viewpoint in Allander Park. While enjoying the magic of the Golden hour!! The River Kelvin after Summerton has a sense of calm and tranquillity. Probably the remotest place I’ve discovered close to my house.

The Slacks sunset

I’ve cycled up the Kilpatrick Braes a few times for the sunset and for the spectacular views over Glasgow and the River Clyde!! The view of the Slacks are truly stunning!!! It’s amazing to think all the years going to those hills, I was oblivious whilst watching the sunset, that this rock formation is on the other side of the same hill. It’s a pretty impressive route and the summit is only like 3 to 4 miles from Glasgow.
